Rise up! Our signature event, Revolutionary War Field Days, has been held on the first full weekend of November since Hundreds of reenactors from across the country converge on our grounds to camp, battle, and celebrate over the weekend. Visitors will get a chance to be a spectator for a battle each day, and they will be able to walk through the camps of the combatants while seeing demonstrations of Colonial crafts and skills. Colonial sutlers merchants and scholars giving talks about the war are on site as well. Over reenactors and demonstrators are expected to attend the event! Tickets are purchased at the gate. The Kershaw House will be closed 1pmpm.
Step back in time and visit encampments to see what daily life was like for both Union and Confederate soldiers during the Civil War. Admissions will be located at the Westmoreland History Education Center. Visitors can also stop by the Westmoreland History Shop, which offers history-inspired books, ceramics, historic toys and games, jams, teas, and more.

The August event will feature battles from the Gettysburg Campaign. The September event will feature battles from the Antietam Campaign. We highly recommend these two events for quality living history displays and demonstrations as well as exciting battles each day. We invite you to experience Gettysburg and Antietam as it was in this summer and fall! Nowhere else can you hear the clashing of swords, the thunder of hooves, the smell of black powder, the sound of artillery shells bursting in the air and hear that distinctive rebel yell other than at this stimulating event.
Take time this year to experience history. These reenactments offer visitors a glimpse of the battlefields and camps. Visitors will get to view battles, see demonstrations, and learn about history. Since , this annual recreation of the amphibious Allied landings upon the beaches of Normandy, France, has thrilled thousands of spectators. The event occurs within the beautifully kept grounds of Conneaut Township Park, Conneaut, Ohio, and assembles over 1, re-enactors from across the United States and Canada.
Remarkably, the yard long beach and sloping adjacent terrain closely resemble Omaha Beach in Normandy, France.

This is where Brigadier General Anthony Wayne led his corps of Continental Light Infantry in a daring midnight attack on the British, seizing the site’s fortifications and taking the soldiers and camp followers at the British garrison as prisoners on July 16, As part of his strategy, Clinton fortified Stony Point.
Washington devised a plan for Wayne to lead an attack on the garrison. Armed with bayonets only, the infantry captured the fort in short order, ending British control of the river. De-commissioned in , it now stands as a historical reminder of the importance of lighthouses to commerce on the Hudson River.
Historical reenactment or re-enactment is an educational or entertainment activity in which mainly amateur hobbyists and history enthusiasts put on uniforms and follow a plan to recreate aspects of a historical event or period. This may be as narrow as a specific moment from a battle, such as the reenactment of Pickett’s Charge presented during the Great Reunion of , or as broad as an entire period, such as Regency reenactment.
While historical reenactors are generally amateurs, some participants are members of armed forces or historians.
